trendSCADA provides trend displays of analogue time series data.

The application has been developed with both the needs of operational staff monitoring the real time state of networks, as well as planning staff looking at long term trends for analogue values derived from the SCADA system.

To meet the needs of both groups, trendSCADA has been designed to serve up trend displays simply and quickly, and to provide long term averaging of analogue trends over time.

In addition to providing trend displays for data derived from SCADA systems, trendSCADA can also be used to trend data from other sources.

The architecture of trendSCADA has a server side component which responds to client side requests for data. The server side uses a local, indexed store of time series data to find and return data to the client. In this way, the amount of data transferred across the network is minimised, and response time is minimised as well.

Adding data to the data store by third party applications is simplified by an API which has been developed for this purpose.
